Holiday Schedule

Holiday Sessions are in FULL SWING.

Yes, this post is to announce that we are just about BOOKED for the holiday season with a few, spot dates here and there. We've been busy with holiday family photos for over a month now! Our holiday Sundays booked very early in the summer...

The holiday "season" for family photos is short---lasting only until early November to meet the holiday deadline for delivery of Christmas Cards and Gift Prints. Thereafter, we have a few "rush fee" dates available---please inquire asap as those dates will book within the next week.

And the funnest part of the Holiday Season---creating Christmas Cards with favorite photos from the sessions! This is the front of one of the designs we are offering this year---this is printed in Art Linen or Art Watercolor which are rich and gorgeous papers! Inside and back allow for photos as well plus a greeting and printed family name.

Some newsworthy notes today...

FIRST:

I would like to SHOUT OUT to all MOMS with DAUGHTERS. Many of you read about it on my blog last year and yes, it's HERE AGAIN!!!

THE REVOLVE TOUR!!!! (CLICK FOR LINK AND INFO)

Yes, Revolve is here in Sacramento again---but if you don't live in Sacramento, they tour the US so check for a city near you! I can't say enough about this awesome event---if you are a mom, and you have a daughter, GO. If you are a young girl, ask, your mom or an aunt or a girlfriend to go with you!

What's it about? REAL LIFE. Girls facing the dilemmas and life challenges in the world today like: pressure to have sex, drugs, alcohol, eating disorders, guys, cutting, peer pressure, living through divorce of your parents, feeling lonely, feeling happy, feeling lost, feeling anything! The pressure to think of "beauty" as the exterior and not realizing that the "heart and inner person" is the true beauty!

Girls: don't hesitate to go with a friend only or a group of girlfriends!

Moms: it's an AMAZING bonding weekend between mom and daughter.

Women: call YOUR friends with daughters and GO!

You don't have to be a religious person to go. It's about LIFE. It's about LOVE. And it's AWESOME. Read about my review on it from last year's blog entry HERE.

SECOND:

To the many photographers around the country that have emailed me recently and in the past few months asking about whether or not I do training and or workshops: the answer is that YES, we are in the process of formulating a workshop towards the END of 2008.

The class agenda will revolve around the many questions I get emailed daily---business development, marketing, post processing, artistic style/questions, session details, natural lighting. While we have not yet specifically outlined or formulated all the details, we are accepting a list of interested photographers for a "mailing list" which will be the list that will receive the details mid next-year and an invitation to sign up.

Please note these requirements that we ask to be respected (and thank you!): This workshop will only be open to those photographers that are not in the area we market to directly. This will be a 300 mile radius, give or take, in any direction (to be considered on an individual basis at time of workshop sign-up). Also, at the time of the workshop you must have a verifiable website and email address (this will be a workshop geared towards professional photographers only).

If you would like to be on the email list, please email us at info @ terifode.com (please note: spaces added to the email to prevent spam! Please remove the spaces!) and put "2008 Workshop" in the subject line.

More...CARMEL-by-the-SEA

Dreamy...

When I booked the Carmel Sessions, my vision was DREAMY...as in, just strolling down the beach with the sea-breeze against your skin, the sea air filling your senses...

Yes, I'm an eclectic artist. You'll see many sides of my "vision", so to speak...these photos reveal the dreamy side of me that wants to capture "moments" and then create art out of life...

The sunlight can be pure magic...this is what I saw as I followed this family down Ocean Avenue towards the white sandy beach at Carmel-by-the-Sea...a little angel:

And these, well, they're what I call dreamy-by-the-sea...

The most wonderful part of these sessions for me was this: THE PURE MAGIC and DIFFERENCE of each one depending on the TIME OF DAY THEY CHOSE THEIR SESSION!

As professional photographers know, it's all about the light...and as you can see, the morning time (the Senior session) gave a soft dreamy glow and is different than the middle of the day (previous family) which had bright sunshine allowing vibrancy in the beautiful blues and aquas...and then the late afternoon (this session) gave cloud cover lending itself to creating dreamy and soft photos.

All families and people involved in these sessions (more to follow) have a unique flavor to their sessions! And for me, well, I'm an eclectic, remember? I love it all.

Can't wait to share this and all the Carmel sessions with the families/girls that booked these sessions! Soon, everyone! Next week begins the full previews for all of you!

Urban Family Session...

IN MONTANA!

 

Okay...THIS was a fun session. Maybe it had a teeny tiny bit to do with the fact that...it was my sister and brother-in-law and neice and nephews! :)

Back in December, Kip (my brother-in-law) told me he wanted to fly me to Montana to do a family session as a SURPRISE for Heidi for Mother's Day! He wanted family photos, and of COURSE I said yes!

Keeping it a surprise for 5 months was NOT easy...I seriously had a hard time not blowing it near the end of the 5 months! It was a GREAT 4 days...and can you believe it SNOWED in Montana in MAY???

Here are some previews for Heidi, Kip, Ryan, Turner and Bailey---and watch soon for a special post featuring JUST Ryan in a "model session" for my senior site...he's another DEFINITE Ambercrombie Model Candidate!!!

Okay...here's just a peek for them...they a wanted the "Urban flavor" so we ventured out into the town of Missoula to capture some eclectic shots. This was a fun day...

 

Okay...so we're just about done with the photo session for the day, and I say "okay guys, just walk along, hold hands, pretend I'm not here, talk and laugh with each other while walking away from me".

I'm making a camera adjustment, and JUST as I'm taking the photo, they do THIS to me, thinking they're super funny...they had it planned...they really "got me" on this one...here I was trying to take this classic awesome photo for a black and white canvas and they do THIS to me. Sheesh.

Somehow I think I GOT THEM in the end.

Such joy are paybacks.

Here...for the world to see...the beautiful backside of this lovely family.

lifestyle family portaiture

real life fun.

This is a mini-preview for the P. Family---a family a recently photographed on a very windy-but-sunny day. We started out inside---and this shot of them on mommy and daddy's bed is one of my faves.

There are lots more on the bed with everyone casually playing, laughing, having a ball---but I love it when I can capture just "one" perfect one when everyone looks right at me...with natural, fun smiles (including chin-tucked-cozily-in-hands-with-squishy-cheeks! THAT'S real life!). This photo captures this beautiful family to a "T": fun, playful and relaxed.

I actually adore the black and white version of this photo, because it accentuates the rich deep woods. But the color version shows the brilliant color combos we chose for the kids (which, by the way, is a DREAM for me as a photographer---I love it when clients invite me into the closets of their kids! We chose several fun combos for this session together.)

A fun day, creating lasting memories to cherish forever! Can't wait to share this entire session with the P. Family!
