she's too cute!

What can I say---she stole my heart!

This little cutie was just a riot...I loved watching her "get ready" for the rain with her little red boots and her ladybug "ba-pa" (that's "back-pack" in 2 year-old lingo). She was full of energy and had lots of genuine smiles for me! I was worn out after this session! LOL!

And THIS, people, is what I consider a timeless FAMILY PHOTO! Mom, Dad, Big Sister and the life of the family wrapped up in one tiny package at knee-level! No traditional studio photo for this family!

And last but not least, a big smile for her photographer! :)

and a vintage piece---one that mom and dad will treasure forever.

One last post with the spa models from the 2008 SPA EVENT in Tucson...while I may not consider some of these "technically" perfect, in the words of Parker J. Pfister (amazing photographer and a speaker at SPA), sometimes it just isn't about technical perfection but rather, how an image makes you FEEL.

And the first 2 images posted here just make me FEEL artistic in all their glorious imperfections...yes, sometimes it's all in the emotion of an image...the emotion of the beholder. And in this case, these were shot through my artist's mind with no reason other than I SAW something that moved me when shooting them...I "saw" this first one with a texture treatment in post processing...

And how photogenic is this guy? He needs to send in his photos to Ford!

 

the "SKYE" is blue today!!!

It's rainy and cloudy in Sacramento today but NOT for ME!!! I just won the Sephora gift cert from SKYE HARDWICK and my sky is blue with sunshine today! :) Thanks Skye!

If Skye and I lived in the same city (she's a fabulous Pennsylvania photographer---check out her photography website HERE), we would shop together all the time because we both love girly pink stuff, shabby chic, Anthropology, camera equipment, blu sites and SEPHORA.

Well---I've neglected the blog for over a week with good reason---I just returned from Tucson and the annual SPA event and it was INCREDIBLE! A gathering of the most talented group of photographers in our country all in one place for over 5 days!

I loved meeting some of the biggest names in the industry and watching them behind the lens---and the speakers and classes were inspiring beyond words. So, with that, I'll post a few images from some of the shoots we were able to attend out in the Pima Air Museum. More shots will be posted tomorrow---I've accepted a 30-posts-in-30-days challenge! So here's post one on day one! ;)

Amazing how 450 photographers can take photos of the same models and come up with 450 interpretations! Here's mine of the first 4 using some fun texture techniques:

A little Ford Model...

This little one already has a great big contract with Ford Models...and I'm sure you can see why. Is she cute or WHAT!?! I loved this little girl...she kept me on my toes for sure! She was active as can be...but I watched and waited for those "moments"...or should I say split-seconds! LOL!

We'll be seeing this little one in print ads for sure very soon! :)

Random!

Just some random stuff to share today---a bit of this and a bit of that!

1. SITES UPDATED. Yes! We've updated our sites for the new year. Check out www.terifode.com. The splash page is new, the Main Site has had a make-over with a new opening slideshow and new photos in galleries and in all menus...the Wedding/Engagement Site is NEW NEW NEW (!!!), and the Commercial Site is so so so so close to going live! Watch for new updates on the Senior Site coming soon soon soon! It's a FRESH new year and we felt like a FRESH new updated look :) I love the fresh-start feel of a fresh new year! So much in store for this year---stay tuned!

2. CONGRATULATIONS are in order for Mark and Gina---I was right. IT'S A GIRL! Can't wait for the newborn baby session coming up soon! Mommy is posted below, next to the last photo. Pink pink pink! Love girlie colors and girlie baby things. (But then, I love boy colors and boy baby things too. Babies babies babies!)

3. THANK YOU and update: to the overwhelming response to the 2008 workshop later in the year...I'm still getting emails weekly and will have to regroup with the larger-than-expected reponse. (For pros only---outside of a 200 mile radius of Sacramento---basics in my post processing, direct sun-lighting techniques and available lighting techniques, modeling and on-location shoots, building a successful photography business. This is NOT a studio lighting class or how-to-use-your camera class). For those that are double-emailing making sure we have your name on the email list, please be assured that if you have received a reponse from our business email saying "Thank you we will respond soon", you are on the list. Info to go out to our mailing list with details in the spring. THANKS AGAIN!

4. INSPIRATION: I get a ton of emails with people/photographers/clients asking me what "inspires me" in my work. I will have to say, first and foremost, my faith and relationship with God. Then, MUSIC! I love music...love listening to it while I'm in post-processing production at the computer. I listen to it in my car on the way to a session. Music sets my mood for a particular type of session I'm doing! I listen to contemporary Christian music, but also love "music that sets a mood" like instrumental music or the music on the website of Jesh Derox (great music to listen to when processing engagement photos!) www.jeshderox.com. Also, colors and textures inspire me in ANYthing like magazines, life, Pottery Barn and Anthropologie (just walking through their stores inspires me---the colors and textures make my head spin).

Okay...now for that rising star:

This young lady is signed up with Ford Models and I can see why. Her eyes and smile and overall look just screamed "photograph me"! I definitely look for Kristen to be in print ads very, very soon. As a matter of fact, Ford is looking for her to sign with one of their biggest clients.

She's so photogenic---and has a very sweet disposition to boot!
