one year later...

baby b. grows up!

I seriously can't believe it's been one year since my maternity and newborn session with the H. family.

One of the best parts about being a photographer is meeting nice families through word of mouth and referrals...so I get to me everyone's best friends and their best friends and so on and so forth! Everyone likes each other, everyone is friends, everyone loves to share their photos with each other!

This has been one of my favorite families to work with this past year. I loved the maternity session...and I couldn't wait to meet baby B.

And now, one year later, they've become wonderful friends that welcome me into their home to capture wonderful family moments that will last forever.

And I love that Baby B.'s mommy, G., appreciates the fine-art of photography. I LOVE how she has displayed the images I captured this past year on the walls of her home. She has a designer's touch and has beautiful black and white portraits of the maternity and newborn sessions throughout her home.

If *I* can't believe a year has flown by, I'm sure mommy and daddy to baby b. can't either. Seems like just yesterday.

And it goes by fast. My baby turns 14 tomorrow. SERIOUSLY...seems like just a couple of years ago she was toddling around the house and we had baby-gates up. Those baby-gates are loooooooong gone, and now she's a young lady.

*sigh*.

a fabulous workshop!

My sister Heidi and I are headed to the New Orleans area for a 3 day INTENSE workshop by 3 of the TOP photographers/instructors in the nation in their field!

Looking forward to spending time with these pros working on various lighting techniques and creative elements!

Yes, my sis is also a pro photograher...in Montana. Check out her site here. I LOVE her site. So fresh, fun and funky. She also has a design-studio in the works...creating specialty product-designs for pro photographers.

Wouldn't my grandparents, who owned a professional studio for 45 years in Chico, CA, be amazed that their 2 grandaughters grew up with the same passion for photography? ;)

Hall of Fame...

Ah...the days of yester-year.

CREATING KEEPSAKES HOF CALLS ARE ABOUT TO GO THIS NEXT WEEK!

It seems like just yesterday that I received the coveted phone call from Creating Keespakes Magazine that I had been selected as a Hall of a Fame winner...the most exciting thing I remember in that phone call was when the Founder and then-editor, Lisa Bearnson, told me "Teri, what really stood out to the judges was your photography...".

And now here I am, having taken a different turn in life and am now a professional photographer, keeping the dream of my deceased grandparents alive...another pro photographer in the family! No, not enough time to scrapbook these days, but I still cherish capturing the important memories and events in my family.

Well...probabaly due to the fact that HOF calls are about to go out for the 2007 Hall of Famer's this next week, I've received tons of emails this past week from other scrapbookers asking me where to find the post I wrote about "getting published" and the experiences I had with it...so I'm posting that previous post below and dedicating this post to all of the past and future Hall of Famers (hi guys!) with a simple reminder as to WHY we REALLY preserve our memories:
