Special Sneak Peek for the D. Family!

This family was so much fun to photograph! For me, it's all about capturing a family in the act of being...a family. Just hanging out on the couch with...Timmy the cat.

Even...mom and dad just being...mom and dad.

LOVE this photo...of a "couple" just laughing and imagining what it might be like if their 3 kids weren't in the corner of their bedroom rough-housing and a photographer wasn't standing 2 feet away...

And speaking of kids, I think daddy might need to buy a great big stick...because in a few years, he's going to need it! Isn't little J. a beauty? Her eyes were so ALIVE!

I think one of the reasons I love photographing families is that I love capturing a group of people who love each other...just living life. And I love creating art with real life.

Can't wait to share this entire session with the D. family next week. And I NEVER share my favorites as a preview...just a few teasers! The favorites...they're in safe keeping until next week! :)

INSPIRATION for the Aspiring Professional:

Bryan Peterson is so fabulous. While reading one of his photography books, I ran accross something that struck me as very significant...and true.

1. Do what you do---and do it well---and you'll have plenty of competition.

2. Do what you do---and do it better than most---and you'll command an audience.

3. Do what you do---and do it better than anyone else---and you'll have the world at  your doorstep.

As for me, I want to see the world when I open my door.

REAL MOMENTS.

One of my goals in my work is to capture the real moments in life...because it's the REAL MOMENTS that we REMEMBER...

And I say "LIFESTYLE PORTRAITURE" because I love creating portraits from life...and the style of life these little boys live is pure...simplicity.

They were giggling because I asked them where their pockets were. And they seemed completely amazed and joyful over finding their pockets and realizing that they could actually put their hands in them! :)

I LOVE capturing real-life moments and creating MEANING in those little moments.
