created a new banner tonight...with a photo of the twins that I had a session with not too long ago...
They've grown so much since the last photo session!
Their mommy ordered two storyboards from this session---but one of my favorites (not one she chose) is this one. Just showing what "Real Life" with twins can really be like! ;)
Because after all, twins don't really "pose"! :)
Congrats to Carl and Kelli...they were married this past weekend and I was asked to do an engagment session with them prior to the wedding. Their friend Traci B. ordered a storyboard as a wedding gift to be on display at the Hawaiian-themed garden wedding!
And another congrats...to my mom...for learning how to update her new blog! Check out the health tips she added!

I'm up late tonight...just got through creating my mom's mother's day gift---can't wait to share it with her tomorrow...

Her very own blog!
She's a TRUE HEALTH-NUT. She walks, eats, breathes her beliefs that:
unnatural foods are bad except in complete moderation.
At 61, she works out, eats healthy, loves to talk about nutrition, and drinks these weird looking but very healthy-for-you concoctions of vitamins and natural foods.
So, we (Heidi and I) decided she needs a platform to share her love of nutrition and health (together with her faith and love for the Lord) with the world!
We've been talking to her about doing this for a year...she just hasn't rolled up her sleeves to figure it out (setting a blog up, that is!). Now she's set!
So, Happy Mother's Day Mom! You health guru! I hope you love the little side bar items (yes, I wrote the little "tool info" on the "links"---LOL---hold you mouse over them and they pop up---LOL again! ;) )
Be sure to pop on her site once in a while if you are interested in a) healthy living b) health tips c) delicious recipes d) faith-based writings---she wanted to be a writer when she was younger! and she loves Jesus!
I will leave you all with a warm "Happy Mother's Day"---and the most beautiful description of a woman that I know...from Proverbs 31:
A worthy woman---who can find? For her price is far above rubies.
The heart of her husband trusteth in her, And he shall have no lack of gain.
She doeth him good and not evil All the days of her life.
She seeketh wool and flax, And worketh willingly with her hands.
She is like the merchant-ships; She bringeth her bread from afar.

This is a description of something I hope to obtain but fall short of. But by God's grace and mercy, we can all strive towards this:
This is how this scripture speaks to my own heart...
The woman of Proverbs 31 is a faithful woman, spiritually strong in the Word. She is confident only because she seeks to know the Lord daily, and He in turn gives her a peace in her heart that can only come from knowing Him.
She is hard-working, disciplined and trustworthy. He husband knows he can trust her with his heart, his love, his children and their home.
She is not lazy, rather, she is energetic, and willing to do her part in the family or world that she lives. She rises early, before everyone else in the family so that she can be first fed by the Word of God, and then to prepare for the day ahead for her family as well as herself.
She is wise and seeks wisdom only from God. She is shrewed and conscientious of financially sound transactions and decisions---she uses coupons to save money for the family when available and looks for bargains and sales to save on the family budget.
She knows beauty comes from within and that exterior beauty is truly only skin-deep. She trusts in God rather than man. She is a shining example to her children of a mother, wife and woman. She "clothes herself with fine linens"---which is the best that she has but with modesty and not in vain. She takes care of herself, but not in vain. She looks to be healthy and vibrant, but not in vain.
Her mouth speaks only kind words---she does not gossip. She does not speak evil of others. She only speaks "words of wisdom"---that is, she speaks to build others up rather than to tear others down.
She is well respected for her faith and strength in God.
She is the woman I strive to be...and am thankful for a God that is so merciful and forgiving when I am not.

I love the challenge of capturing a moving little toddler on *film*. It's all about...getting into their world. Getting down on their level. Earning their trust so that they open up and let you *see* the world how they see it...
This little one was high energy...a real ball of fire. I really had to be alert in order to capture the perfect moments! She made me sweat...LOL! ;) Such a cutie, this one!
baby session
Loved this baby session...she was the best little baby. She just cooed and smiled and looked into my camera all day!
We moved her into a guest room...loved the window lighting...she looked like a little doll baby...I kid you not!
And her nursery!!! It was the MOST adorable little girlie-nursery I've seen in my LIFE! It was rather small though...and didn't change into my wide angle but shot these at the last minute right before leaving...cute?

This is so hard. I have been reading through my entire blog for the past few days. Deleting posts after printing them that seemed to share personal details in the lives of my family that just seem so...vulnerable.
Yes, deleting stories.
Deleting names.
Deleting photos.
And then, I'll read a post that was not even *about* me. It wasn't about my family. It wasn't about my life or my comfort or my material gain or my business life.
It was simply about how God moves me and how He has impressed my heart to share something that I didn't even know I was going to write about when I sat down to blog that particular night! I've read some of these posts and think "wow...did I write that? why? where did it come from?".
Posts that generated personal emails to me from all over the country and even around the world that were very heart-felt, and in-turn, very inspiring to me as well. Your stories and your faith and your own words of inpiration to me ranging from simple "thank yous" to wonderful testimonies and your life stories have been a great inspiration to me.
And I just simply haven't been able to push the "delete" button on those entries.
It's all the trend these days for professional photographers to start blogs that are strictly geared towards their customer base. A way to promote their business, be professional, and share some photos. Blogs that are directly linked from their photography sites. A great way to reach out to a target market, for sure!
I've been thinking these past few weeks that maybe I would start a blog JUST for my business. Keep my personal one separate. And then...
This all happened. (see prior post).
Made me think "well, so much for a personal blog. I'll just wipe the slate clean, and recreate this blog into a STRICLTY business blog like lots of other are doing." Great thing to do. And besides, this one was created with my full name anyway so it made sense to use it for my pro blog.
But then, my dh walked into the room last night and said "why don't you think about it before you wipe everything out. Give it some time to think about what you REALLY want to do with your blog whether it's for business, personal use or not at all".
So...today, it struck me. Why does my faith have to be hidden from my business? Why do all of these posts that I've read through that have generated so many heart-felt emails have to be "separated" from this blog?
In the end, I've decided to remove photos and names of my children and posts with specific details that don't need to be made public for safety reasons. After all, in promoting my photography business with my full name---together with the exposure of being published over the past few years---means I do need to be very careful as it relates to my family.
But this is...who I am.
A photographer that has been blessed by God. A photographer that loves the Lord above all else.
And is inspired to share that along this journey that is called...life.
So.
My blog continues to be a way for me to share my thoughts, my artistic impressions, my loves, my faith in the all-powerful God, and a way for me to share a few images that He inspires me to capture with a little box called...
a camera.
