Teri - You made my morning by posting this. Last year this was sung at church by a woman soloist - it was the first time I heard it, and was I astonded by it's beauty. Now you've supplied the lyrics, and I know the story behind. I am so NOT musical - but you are giving some wonderful artists and songs (and sites to find them)that I now love. Thanks Teri - enjoy a wonderful day.

This is my favorite Christmas Song. I hear it 3 or 4 times a day now. Everytime it comes on the all Christmas station, I turn up the volume. Beautiful voice, beautiful lyrics. It's one of those that makes me feel like crying. Not a good thing while I'm sitting at my desk.

Thanks for the history behind the song.

Have a wonderful day.

P.S. Love the new banner. Who are those gorgeous children??

Michelle T.

My favorite too. Merry Christmas!!

Thank you for sharing this song... I love very much too. Such a powerful message... I wonder too what was going through Mary's mind. It's all so amazing...

Teri! This is my all time favorite Christmas song, too!!!! I love it! I never knew about the lyrics! The neat thing is that I have heard this song on secular radio sung by Clay Aiken. Right now there is a big controversy going on about "Happy Holidays" vs. "Merry Christmas". This season IS about Jesus Christ. It is about the birth of a king who came to save the world and give the greatest gift of all - salvation. Barbara Walter's just had a special on about Heavean. I didn't watch all of it - but I am glad that through national television a pastor said, "You must be born again and accept Jesus Christ as your Savior." We, as Christians, are simply offering this gift to others and it is sad that so many take offense. Christmas is not going away and I am thankful that during this season there WILL be people accepting that free gift!!! God is faithful!

Teri - Thank you for always taking a stand!

Merry Christmas to You and Yours!!!

This is a very powerful song! Now I have to make a point to listen to it. I can't believe I've never heard of it before!

Thank you for typing out the lyrics. It's very wonderful just to read.

I've been a huge fan of Christian music for many years. I purchased that Michael English album when it was just released...loved it! Love his version of "Mary did you Know" best, too! But I can't believe I've never read that story on how Mark L. wrote the song...so glad you shared it!

This is one of my all time favorite Christmas songs, right behind Breath of Heaven. Both of these songs make me just stop and really think about what it is all about. I just can't imagine what it must have been like to be Mary. Now being a mother, I can't imagine all she went through throughout the life of Jesus.
