It MATTERS...
If you've read some of my previous entries (see the archives) you know that I believe that quality AND quantity of time matters with our familiy.
I believe that families have lost one of the greatest blessings by being so busy that they don't spend MOST of the meals TOGETHER, with each other...it's one of the best opportunities to learn about each other and find out what's going on in the lives of our children. We eat 28 out of 30 dinners a month together...and every lunch on weekends and most breakfasts. It's a very special time to bond as a family.
We also play together. We watch uplifting musical programs together...go to Christian Concerts together...we go to church and SIT together (so many kids sit with their friends in church and we have taken the stance that church is a time for our family---friends are for other times)...and we play games together.
A great game that is fun for a Saturday game night (with popcorn and all) is Bible Categories (a knock-off of Scattegories). It's fun, and everyone learns something new about the bible! You can find it at your local Christan Book Store, or here at this link: Bible Games.
Making a weekly family night with games, popcorn, or uplifting music and a biblical movie will add to your life more than you know!
God is so good...He wants us to enjoy our lives and each other while glorifying Him every step of the way!
"Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! for His mercy endures forever. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so!" Psalm 107:1, 2

Your are so right. I just posted about priorities. Just the other day my husband mentioned all the parents and teens in the drive thru at Wendys. It really got me thinking about where your priorities are. Great Post.
